Challenge

BUILD A personal CARBON TRADING PLATFORM Quickly

The idea of the city of Lahti was unique. Lahti aimed to build a platform that gathers mobility data, convert it to a personal carbon footprint, and utilize it also for personal credits at the carbon trading marketplace. The schedule was tight and such a platform did not exist.

 

Solution

Flexibility with a data-driven monetization platform

The core of the CitiCAP is a platform for managing the user carbon balance, calculating the carbon emissions for each trip, and supporting the carbon emission trade. 

  • Collects the mobility data received from CitiCAP mobile app

  • Converts the mobility data to carbon emissions using defined rules for each means of mobility.

  • Maintains a personal carbon emission balance on the user account

  • Converts the carbon emissions to virtual money for CitiCAP carbon trade.
