The idea of the city of Lahti was unique. Lahti aimed to build a platform that gathers mobility data, convert it to a personal carbon footprint, and utilize it also for personal credits at the carbon trading marketplace. The schedule was tight and such a platform did not exist.
The core of the CitiCAP is a platform for managing the user carbon balance, calculating the carbon emissions for each trip, and supporting the carbon emission trade.
Collects the mobility data received from CitiCAP mobile app
Converts the mobility data to carbon emissions using defined rules for each means of mobility.
Maintains a personal carbon emission balance on the user account
Converts the carbon emissions to virtual money for CitiCAP carbon trade.
